Online High School Academics
Dual Credit at IDVA
Dual credit at Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA) helps prepare students for their futures. Dual credit courses can help them save time and money on their college journey while strengthening their academic transcript with proven college-level achievements.
With our college partners, we offer a variety of dual credit eligible courses—sometimes called concurrent enrollment courses or dual enrollment. Students can take subjects ranging from Spanish to public speaking and fine art, as well as popular STEM subjects like astronomy, pre-calculus, and anatomy and physiology.

Ease into the rigor of higher education with hands-on experience ahead of time

Save out-of-pocket costs by taking advantage of Idaho’s Advanced Opportunities Program

Possibly finish college earlier by completing college credits in high school
Idaho College and University Partners
IDVA students can earn dual credit at all of our public and some private universities and colleges, including College of Western Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University, North Idaho College, and Boise State University.
Colleges and universities within the state work together to honor and accept dual enrollment credits. However, students should confirm with their school counselor and specific college of interest that dual credits earned while at IDVA will transfer as expected.

Dual Credit Costs
Each credit costs $75, and students have $4,625 to use toward dual credit through Idaho’s Advanced Opportunities (AO) Program. Most students do not expend all of the AO money unless they plan to complete an associate’s degree in high school. Out-of-pocket expenses for students may include lab fees, books, and course supplies and will vary by course.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the dual credit program, high school students must:
- Be an IDVA student in good standing
- Be in grades 11 or 12 (grades 9 and 10 may also be eligible with additional considerations)
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (recommended, may vary by specific college)
- Have completed any required pre-requisite courses for the dual credit course of interest
