Online School Enrollment and Attendance FAQ's

Who is eligible to attend Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA)?

IDVA offers enrollment for grades K–12 for Idaho residents.

Can my child enroll in IDVA and another public school?

Full-time enrolled students will have priority at IDVA. Students can dual enroll according to Idaho law if they complete the required paperwork, which can be requested through IDVA. Both schools involved in dual enrollment must approve the paperwork. IDVA's dual enrollment policy is established yearly by the board of directors. To learn about the current dual enrollment process, please call 866.339.9066.

How many of my children can I enroll in IDVA?

Because IDVA provides the lesson plans and materials needed for grades K–12, many parents find it easy to enroll multiple children in the program.

What does it cost to attend IDVA?

Because IDVA is a public school program, there is no tuition. IDVA provides students all instructional materials for the program. Families are responsible for providing some common household materials (such as printer ink and paper)

What is the attendance policy?

As Idaho public school students, all IDVA students must comply with the state-required minimum number of instructional days.

Does IDVA offer an accelerated graduation schedule?

Yes. IDVA offers alternate paths towards graduation for qualifying students. Students who are 16 years or older and who have a 3.5 GPA or higher may qualify for a flexible schedule and/or early graduation.

Learn more about flexible scheduling and early graduation or for additional information, contact Lisa Stein, our college and career advisor at: lstein@idahova.org. .

Can our family take a vacation during the school year?

The school calendar includes school holidays or vacation time. Whenever possible, family vacations should align with school vacation days. Parents are encouraged to contact their student's teacher if they plan a vacation that does not coordinate with the school calendar.
