What are the courses/terms in ISID?

ISID core courses are scheduled for 8-week quarters, and electives are scheduled for 4-week blocks. Students in ISID can earn up to 16 credits during the school year and up to 3 credits during summer school.

What are the attendance requirements in ISID?

Students will have 6 to 8 hours of coursework (lessons, assignments, assessments, reading, essays, etc.) each school day.

What support do ISID students receive?

ISID students will have support from teachers, a graduation coach, a counselor, a college & career advisor, a school social worker, and administration.

What are the eligibility requirements to attend ISID?

ISID is an alternative school for at-risk students in grades 6–12. Eligible students typically meet criteria such as academic struggles, attendance issues, or behavioral concerns. For detailed information on student eligibility, click here.

What tests will my child be required to take?

All Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA) students are required to take the following tests:

  • Course lesson assessments
  • Course unit assessments
  • Benchmark assessments
  • Final exams for high school students (twice a year)
  • Idaho Reading Indicator
  • Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT)

Will my child have to participate in state testing?

Yes. IDVA students must comply with all Idaho-mandated testing requirements. These assessments are mandatory for all public school students in Idaho, as outlined by state law.
